AFN Antenna and Decoder Setup

4. Connecting the Antenna (Satellite Dish) and Decoder

TIP: You should place the TV and decoder beside the antenna, or within view of the antenna (through a window from the outside location) for aligning purposes.  You can place the TV and decoder box outside at the antenna location by running an extension cord to that location.

a) Connect the antenna to the decoder box using RG-6 coaxial cable with “F” type connectors.  Thinner RG-59 coaxial cable can be used at lengths of 50ft or less.  You can purchase these items at you local Powerzone, or on the local market at an electronics store.

Leave enough slack in the cables so that the dish may move back and forth and up and down.
