Portugal
often plays second fiddle to it's Iberian neighbor,
Spain, and I don't know why. While I
certainly enjoy the history and varied regions of Spain, I also
think Portugal is a country that must not be missed.
Portugal has its own rich and unique culture that developed in
geographic isolation from its much visited neighbor. This
seafaring nation boasts great food, friendly people, and is the
cheapest destination in Western Europe. It is for these
reasons that Portugal may well be the best value destination in
Western Europe.
Your vacation can be as varied as
your imagination: with green mountains in the north, rocks slops in
the center, near-desert in the Alentejo region, and glamorous
beaches in the south.
