WHERE TO STAY?
Luxury hotels line the Grand Canal. If you are looking for
something cheaper (and most of us are), there are plenty of charming
smaller hotels located around the city. The main city areas of
Dorsoduro, San Marco, Castello, and San Polo are well located and
boast a plethora of hotels to stay in. Avoid the area around
the train station, which is noisy and less attractive.
TIP: Do not stay in the Mestre, which is Venice's modern industrial
area on the mainland.

Heidelberg
Heidelberg is the very image of
romantic Germany. The city's 17th Century red sandstone castle
ruin and the old bridge are two of the most majestic sights in all of
Germany. |
