NEW TOWN (Nové Město) The center of the New Town is Wenceslas Square, a busy boulevard famed as the focus of protests during the Velvet Revolution.

Wenceslas Square is the center of Prague's cultural, financial, and everyday life.  It is here that you will find most of Prague's theaters, restaurants, and shops.  At the top of the boulevard is the National Museum and a statue of St. Wenceslas.  Wenceslas Square is the part of the city that never sleeps, and stores will remain open until the early hours of the morning.

Prague's State Opera HouseCLASSICAL MUSIC AND OPERA Classical Music is everywhere in Prague.  Stop by one of the Tourism Offices near Wenceslas Square to find out what tickets are available.  Tickets are cheap and the performances are superb.  In the New Town you will find Prague's Theaters and Opera Houses, to include the STATE OPERA HOUSE.
