CHARLES BRIDGE (Karlův Most) The Charles Bridge is a landmark
in and of itself. Prague's most famous bridge was built in
1357, but its statues were not added until 1657.
The
bridge's 1700 foot length holds more than 30 sculptures, and is
packed from bank to bank with tourists, vendors, artists, and
musicians. From the bridge, you can catch breathtaking views
of Prague castle, as well as many of Prague's towering medieval
buildings in the Old District.
Take a
stroll along this beautiful Prague landmark and enjoy the hustle and
bustle of a busy marketplace. While you're there, don't forget
to climb up the Powder Tower (Prašná Brána)
at the end of the bridge for great views up and down the River
Vltava.
